Manchester United FC’s captain and highest goal scorer, Wayne Rooney has addressed rumors connecting him with the mouthwatering offer made by Chinese Super League clubs.
The Premier League club captain in reaction to the deal which would have made him the highest earning footballer on earth with a weekly take home pay of £1m has confirmed that he will be staying with the premier league side, Manchester United FC.
In a statement issued, the England player who currently earns about £250,000 per week at Manchester United noted that he is ready to stay at the club and fight for his place as he has in recent games not been guaranteed a place in the club’s starting eleven.
Rooney in his statement said: “Despite the interest which has been shown from other clubs, for which I’m grateful, I want to end recent speculation and say that I am staying at Manchester United.
“I hope I will play a full part in helping the team in its fight for success on four fronts. “It’s an exciting time at the club and I want to remain a part of it.”
