The Nigeria’s Super Eagles have qualified for the final of the ongoing West Africa Football Union (WAFU) cup of Nations following a 1-0 win over 10-man Benin Republic.
The semi-final match held at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Thursday. An early goal from Nigerian midfielder, Rabiu Alli, seemed to be all that was needed to push the Eagles to the final stage of the competition.
The Nigerian team boasts an impenetrable defence after keeping five clean sheets in all five games played in the sub-regional football tournament.
The Eagles will set up to play the Black Stars of Ghana in the final.
The Black stars beat Niger Republic 2-0 in the second semi-final game on Thursday night.
The home-based Eagles had earlier defeated the host country 2-0 in the group stage match on Monday.
The final match is scheduled to be played in Cape Coast on Sunday.
