VMAs 2024: Taylor Swift Wins Big, Burna Boy and Ayra Starr Lose Out

The MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) 2024 took place in New York, with Taylor Swift emerging as the biggest winner of the night. Swift won the coveted Video of the Year award for her collaboration with Post Malone, “Fortnight.”

Other notable winners include Sabrina Carpenter, who won Song of the Year for “Espresso,” and Eminem, who took home the award for Best Hip-Hop for “Houdini.”

Burna Boy and Ayra Starr, both Nigerian artists, were nominated but did not win in their respective categories. Burna Boy was nominated for Best Afrobeats for “City Boys,” while Ayra Starr was nominated for Best Afrobeats for “Last Heartbreak Song” featuring Giveon.

The ceremony featured performances by Camila Cabello, Chappell Roan, GloRilla, Rauw Alejandro, Lenny Kravitz, and Sabrina Carpenter, among others. Megan Thee Stallion hosted the event, which opened with a performance by Eminem and Jelly Roll.
