Russia’s president, Vladmir Putin may be the world’s richest person according to latest report.
The fresh report comes after Amazon’s founder, Jeff Bezos and Microsoft’s co-founder, Bill Gates entered a “who’s wealthiest” competition last week.
Recall that Jeff Bezos of Amazon was announced the world’s richest man but the title lasted only a while as Bill Gates later overtook him on the chart.
However, a latest report released by a US financier revealed that the true wealthiest individual may be the Russian president with a wealth profile bigger than Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos’ combined.
The US financier, Bill Browder, was reported to have told senators last week that the Russian president is far richer than he is given credit for.
Newsdesk further reported that the Chief executive officer of Hermitage Capital Management, Bill Browder, pegged Vladmir Putin’s worth at an estimated $200 billion.
The company which was once the largest portfolio investor in Russia revealed that its CEO, Browder was a shareholder in Gazprom, Surgutneftegas and other Russian state-run enterprises in the 1990s.
The timeline given was estimated to be around the same time when Putin reportedly entered into a deal with Russian businessmen, one which made him the “richest man in the world”.
The report comes on the heels of several speculations regarding the fortune portfolio of the Russian president.
Newsweek reports that Putin’s official asset declaration form revealed that he earns $133,000 per annum.
