The Chairman of PDP National Campaign Council for Edo gubernatorial election, Nyesom Wike says that any attempt by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to declare Saturday’s polls inconclusive could lead to mayhem in the state.
Wike, who is the Governor of Rivers State, said this in a news briefing on Sunday as the commission continues the collation of the results of the gubernatorial poll.
He said that the results of 16 local governments released showed that the PDP candidate, Godwin Obaseki was in a clear lead over his main challenger, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Wike accused INEC of plotting to withhold the result of the two remaining local government areas in a bid to force a rerun.
However, the Rivers governor said that such a ploy could lead to crisis as Edo people would reject it.
He appealed to the international community to put pressure on the commission to release the results of the two remaining local governments.
