The Government of the United States has donated 24 armoured vehicles to the Nigerian military as part of initiatives to support the war on terror in the country.
The vehicles which were presented on Thursday are mine-resistant and armour-protected vehicles.
It was gathered that the vehicles were valued at about $11 million
American President, Barack Obama late 2015 promised to support the war on Boko Haram insurgency in the West African sub-region, and sent 300 American military personnel to Cameroon, one of the countries battling the terror group, to assist in the fight.
The Boko Haram insurgency in Nigeria which started in 2009 has claimed thousands of lives and displaced even more, most of whom are women and children.
