Nigerian singer and Mavin artiste, Tiwa Savage, has come under heavy criticism after she was spotted during a concert held in Ghana disrespecting the nation’s flag.
The Nigerian singer during the Saturday night performance in Ghana was reported to have treated the nation’s flag with little to no respect as she dropped the flag to the floor during her time on stage.
Social media users, Ghanaians in particular have reacted on their social media page calling the artiste out for her conduct.
In the video footage of the mother of one’s performance at the #GhanaMeetsNaija2017 concert, the singer was ushered onto the stage along with her troupe flying the nation’s flag as a cape but as soon as the performance kicked off, Tiwa Savage tossed the flag off, a move which was described by many of the nationals as a disrespect.
Ghanaina OAP, Afia Schwarzenegger who also shared the opinion alongside several other social media users took to her Instagram page to write: “She disrespected every Ghanaian sitting there by dropping our flag.”
The post however sparked more controversy as Ghanaians trooped out to express their anger calling the singer names.
Some other users on the social media platform weighed in as @samernestina wrote: “Nice performance but was disappointed in her throwing the flag on the floor. It is disrespectful.”
Another user, @nanyportia wrote: “You watched her throw the National Flag on the ground? It’s a shame.”
