VIDEO: ‘Tinubu cannot be wrong’ – Orji Kalu

Senator for Abia North, Orji Uzor Kalu has said that President Bola Tinubu can do no wrong.

Kalu said this in a video interview published on his verified Facebook page while thanking the president for the choice of Hon. Nkeiru Onyejeocha as the ministerial nominee from Abia State.

The immediate-past Senate Chief Whip disclosed that the Federal Government wanted to make him a minister as a sort of compensation for not contesting against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC)’s choice for Senate President.

Recall that the APC’s anointed candidate, Senator Godswill Akpabio emerged Senate President after fighting off stiff competition from Senator Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara West.

Kalu said he turned down the offer of becoming a minister and told President Tinubu to choose anyone of his liking.

This, he said, led to the emergence of his “ally” Onyejeocha.

The former Abia governor said that Abia’s delegation to the 10th Senate comprising himself, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe (Abia South), and Senator Darlington Nwokocha (Abia Central), have forwarded a letter to the Senate President confirming Onyejeocha “in advance”.

He said that by virtue of this letter and the ministerial nominee’s former position as a member of the House of Representatives, she will not be grilled by the Senate during the screening of the ministerial nominees.
