The 2023 presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, says members and supporters of the opposition Labour Party will “labour to death”.
Tinubu stated this on Tuesday during the APC candidate, Gboyega Oyetola’s campaign for the Osun governorship election scheduled for Saturday, July 16.
He was flanked by other APC bigwigs, VP candidate Kashim Shettima, Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kano, and Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
Speaking in Yoruba language, Tinubu described Labour Party as a “useless party”.
Playing on the various Yoruba meanings for “labour”, the former Lagos governor said, “They call themselves ‘labour’. They will labour to death.”
Praying for the teeming supporters of APC at the campaign venue, he added, “May God not allow you become labourers.
“May God not turn you to labourers.
“May you go home with goodness – goodness of money, children and blessings.
“You’re next in line. It is your turn.”
