The presidential candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi has replied to his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) counterpart, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar’s comment that it would take a miracle for Obi to emerge president in 2023.
He said that his political journey has been a miracle, and he was looking forward to another miracle in 2023.
Obi stated this on Monday as a guest on a popular Channels TV programme, ‘Politics Today’.
The former two-term governor of Anambra recalled how he ran for governor on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), which was less than one year old at the time.
He further recalled how he reclaimed his mandate in 2005, nearly three years after someone else had been sworn in as governor.
Also, he recalled how he was impeached by the State House of Assembly six months after inauguration but became the first governor in Nigeria to be returned to office by a court after being impeached.
These feats, he said, were nothing but miracles.

Obi also faulted Atiku’s claim that majority of his support base was on social media and not actual voters.
“We’re not just on social media. People are listening to us and they know that we have something to offer,” Obi said.
