Security operatives have gunned down a transborder criminal gang leader identified as Odumodu and four of his lieutenants.
Before being neutralised by the security operatives, Odumodu led a criminal gang that terrorised Imo and Anambra states.
According to reports, the notorious kidnapper and his gang operate from a camp in Imo State, from where they come into Anambra for nefarious activities.
A video circulating on social media showed the slain gang members inside a security van alongside arms supposedly recovered from them.
A narrator believed to be a security agent can be heard saying that four AK-47 rifles, five pump action rifles and two rocket launchers were recovered from the gang.

Chief Press Secretary to Anambra State Governor, Christian Aburime confirmed the incident on Wednesday.
“The dreaded Odumodu, leader of a criminal gang, operating from Imo State into border towns in Anambra was gunned down by the gallant Anambra security forces, with four others members,” Daily Post quoted Aburime as saying.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Anambra, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga has yet to confirm the development.
