One of the perks of being a celebrity is being recognised and fawned on by adulating fans all around.
In fact, many celebrities get so used to this treatment that they very often take it for granted.
It goes without saying therefore that one of the most painful things that can happen to a celebrity is to be snubbed.
Yet, one popular figure got exactly that treatment during an event in which he expected to be celebrated by all and sundry.
Boxing legend, Floyd Mayweather Jr. was at a Meet & Greet with then world heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua, in London when he got perhaps the most embarrassing treatment he ever received from anyone.
A video of the event circulating on social media shows several fans of Joshua walking onto the red carpet to greet and snap photos with their idol.
However, just beside him was Mayweather Jr., who retired from boxing in 2017 with an undefeated record and won fifteen major world championships from super featherweight to light middleweight.
Not only did the fans totally fail to acknowledge the boxing legend, his attempts to shake several of them were ignored.
Mayweather, who in 2016, was ranked by ESPN as the greatest boxer, pound for pound, of the last 25 years, could not help looking awkward, perhaps wishing someone would put him out of his misery.
