The 33 victims of Saturday’s bandit attacks at Runji Village in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area, Southern Kaduna have been given a mass burial.
A Twitter user, @Drmopaul shared a video of the burial, which took place on Sunday, on the social media platform.
The mass burial was held amidst tears by relatives and community members, who gathered to witness the funeral service.

Chairman of Zangon Kataf Local Government Council, Francis Sani, confirmed the death toll on Sunday.
Sani said that 40 houses were burnt by the attackers while seven persons sustained injuries and are presently receiving treatment at the hospital.

The Kaduna State Government also confirmed the incident but did not state the casualty figure.
The Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, disclosed in a security update on Sunday that troops had a fierce encounter with the attackers and are still in the general area.
“While waiting for a detailed report, Governor Nasir El-Rufai who received the preliminary report in the early hours of Sunday, has condemned the killings as unacceptable and unjustifiable.
“The Governor condoled the families that lost their loved ones and prayed for the repose of the victims’ souls. He also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
“The Kaduna State Government will update the public on the incident as soon as detailed reports are received from the security agencies,” Aruwan said.
