The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has accused the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of insincerity in its claims that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led APC administration honoured the memory of Bashorun MKO Abiola “for politics”.
In an interview with TheCable on Saturday, Mohammed wondered why the PDP could not have done same “for politics” in its 16 years in charge of the nation.
Recall that Buhari bestowed a posthumous Grand Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (GCFR) honour on Abiola on June 12.
He said, “For 16 years the PDP danced on the grave of MKO Abiola and failed to recognise June 12 for what it was, and when President Buhari decided to take action and recognise MKO Abiola posthumously, the naysayers went on social media to say it is done for politics.”
