The United States born Nigerian artiste, Jidenna has aired his opinion about the trending controversy that many Nigerians are generally perceived as scammers around the world.
Recall that a total of 77 Nigerian were recently arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the United States, following an investigation into an email fraud case in which a total of $3 billion was reportedly collected through false pretense.
The reports of the arrests has since led to a world wide argument about the integrity of Nigerians around the world – one in which many prominent Nigerians have also spoken against.
While local Nigerian artists have gone cold on the issue, Jidenna, who has been granting a lot of interviews recently boldly told his interviewer that the main reason Nigerian citizens are seen as fraudsters is due to the fact that they are smarter than a lot of people around the world.
He then stressed that Nigerians are excelling in different fields across different sectors and countries in the world because of their smartness.
According to Jidenna, “The reason why Nigerians are known for scamming is not because we are bad people. It’s because we are smarter than a lot of people”.
