Horrific abuse is being perpetrated against elderly persons in many American nursing homes.
A video has emerged showing different incidents of abuse targeted at elderly persons across American nursing homes.
This is in the wake of Sunday’s charging of 20-year-old Michigan man, Jaden Hayden for beating up a 75-year-old Norman Bledsoe, with whom he shared a room at the Westwood Nursing Center in Detroit.
In that case, Hayden, of Ypsilanti, set up his cell phone camera and recorded himself dealing many blows to a defenseless Bledsoe on the latter’s bed.
The video, which went viral on social media after the accused himself posted it, lasted 90 seconds.
It quickly attracted widespread condemnation, including from President Donald Trump, who tweeted: “Is this even possible to believe? Can this be for real? Where is this nursing home, how is the victim doing?”

But the new video shows different incidents of abuse targeted at the elderly, further raising concerns about how the senior citizens in care homes are fairing now that there is a ban on visits from loved ones due to COVID-19.
While some of the abuse were perpetrated by staff of the homes, some were perpetrated by fellow residents.
