A video of a Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) referee being assaulted has surfaced on the internet.
In the 18-second video, the referee of a game between Plateau United and Kano Pillars can be seen being escorted out of the pitch as some angry fans attempted to manhandle him.
The game ended 0-0.

The Herald recalls that Plateau United were fined N3 million by the League Management Committee (LMC) after the centre referee was left in intensive care in the club’s 0-0 draw with Ifeanyi Ubah FC on Sunday, January 13.
The club was also banished to the Ilorin Township Stadium.
