On Monday, operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission invaded premises of Federal High Court in Lagos, to effect the arrest of the former Director General of Nigeria Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) Patrick Ziadeke Akpobolokemi.
Akpobolokemi has earlier being arraigned before two different courts of the federal high court on charges of stealing and conversion of money running into billions of naira.
He was leaving the court after the presiding judge Justice Ibrahim Buba, adjourned one of the cases till 18th January, 2016 for trial.
He was about to enter his car when the EFCC operatives arrived in a bus to whisk him away to the bewilderment of his lawyers who were watching the whole scene.
He was heard screaming ‘I am not going anywhere,’ while he carried into the bus.
