Award-winning comedian, Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Ejekwu, otherwise known as Sabinus or Mr Funny, has poked fun at the Federal Ministry of Agriculture’s claim that it spent N18.9 billion to clear bush and other expenses during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020.
Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Public Accounts, Hon. Wole Oke said that the ministry made the claim during the committee’s probe of its account.
“During the lockdown of the country as a result of COVID-19, some companies took contracts worth about N18 billion for bush clearing from the federal ministry of agriculture for land preparation, rehabilitation of soil plant lab and others. We cannot shave their heads in their absence,” the committee chairman said.
The revelation has been eliciting angry reactions from Nigerians since it became public.
In a 3:33-minute video also showing a newspaper’s headline on the story and a photo of the Minister of Agriculture, Sabinus can be seen laughing hysterically.
The popular funnyman utters no word throughout the video but keeps on laughing his heart out.
