Barcelona have completed the signing of Chilean and Bayern Munich midfielder, Arturo Vidal on a 3-year contract, the club has announced.
The 31-year-old midfield enforcer was widely reported to be heading to Inter Milan before Barcelona, just as they did with Malcom, hijacked the deal.
Announcing his arrival on their official website, Barcelona wrote:
“FC Barcelona and FC Bayern Munich have reached an agreement for the transfer of player Arturo Vidal. The agreement is for the next three seasons and is pending the medical examination that the player will undertake over the course of the next few days.”
He becomes Barca’s fourth major signing of the transfer window, following Arthur, Bordeaux winger Malcom and Sevilla defender Clement Lenglet to Catalonia.
Vidal is expected to fill the void left by Paulinho, who returned to Chinese Super League side Guangzhou Evergrande on loan after a single season at Camp Nou.
