Swansea City manager Gary Monk has refused to back down on comments he made last year concerning then Stoke City player, Victor Moses.
Monk had called Moses a “cheat” in October 2014, after the Nigerian international fell in questionable circumstances in a Stoke City game against Swansea that resulted in a penalty for Stoke and ensured that Swansea lost the game.
An aggrieved Monk went as far as saying Moses should be ashamed to face his family, and also branded referee Mark Oliver a “disgrace” for awarding the penalty.
The 24-year-old has since moved on and is now playing for West Ham United on loan from league champions Chelsea.
But in a repeat feature that will see Swansea and Stoke trade tackles on Saturday, Monk was asked in an interview with Walesonline how he felt about the supposed dive by Victor Moses.
He said about the “cheat” comment: “I have no regrets, that was how I felt.”
However, Monk said, “But we have moved a long way from there and it’s not even in our thoughts now.
“We are focussed on moving forward. We have had some good games against Stoke so hopefully we can put on another display in front of our fans.”
