Nigerian-born Victor Agunbiade has taken to social media to celebrate his promotion to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in the US Navy.
Agunbiade, who holds a doctorate degree in management, announced his promotion in a tweet on Wednesday, saying he was “humbled” by it.
“Good news. My promotion result just came out. I was selected to the rank of Lieutenant Commander,” he wrote in a Tuesday tweet.
In a follow-up tweet on Wednesday, the newly-promoted officer wrote, “Time for transformation! Selected for Promotion and humbled by it! The best is still ahead! God is faithful and I am a living testament to His faithfulness. Promotion only comes from God! #Godisfaithful”

The Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, congratulated Agunbiade on his promotion.
“Wow!!! Hearty congrats! So very well deserved,” she wrote in a tweet.
Information on his LinkedIn profile shows Agunbiade joined the US Navy nearly 15 years ago.
He is currently a Reserve Program Director in the force.
Agunbiade holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics (Summa Cum Laude) from Minnesota State University, Mankoto, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Bethel University, and a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) in Management from Grand Canyon University.
