Louis Van Gaal has cast doubt on the futures of Phil Jones, Jonny Evans and Chris Smalling at Manchester United.
The three defenders have been plagued by injuries during their United careers and won’t be available for today’s game against West Ham leaving Van Gaal with a defensive crisis.
He is likely to use the pairing of Darren Fletcher and Marcos Rojo to fill the void.
The United said he was aware of the dubious fitness records of the trio before he came to Old Trafford.
“I have been told and now they are confirming that,” said Van Gaal.
“But I have good hopes that we shall improve in that matter, because normally I don’t have any injuries.”
