Valentine’s Day Would Have Been the Day to Mark Liberation of Nigerians – APC

All progressives Congress has said that if not for election postponement, Valentine’s Day would have being the day of liberation of Nigerians from the incompetent government of Peoples Democratic Party.

In a statement on Friday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, APC said ”Saturday, February 14, 2015 would have been a day of double celebration, of Valentine’s Day and of the liberation of the long-suffering people of Nigeria from the burden imposed on them by a clueless, incompetent and purposeless government of the Peoples Democratic Party.

“But for the insistence of the PDP and the Jonathan Administration that the suffering of Nigerians must be prolonged for another six weeks, the Valentine’s Day would have also marked the celebration of freedom from the PDP servitude by all Nigerians.

“However, those who orchestrated a needless postponement of the elections have only won a Pyrrhic victory as the delay will only further sweeten the joys of victory over the oppressors of the Nigerian people.

“The APC wishes all Nigerians a happy Valentine’s Day, as they join the rest of the world to mark the Day on Saturday, while urging them to prepare to celebrate their imminent liberation from the yoke imposed by the Peoples Democratic Party, under which they have laboured for many years.”

  • it is actually disheartening to imagine that the APC is still pondering on the issue of election postponement, over 20 million Nigerians would have been disenfranchised if INEC has sticked to the original date of feb 14, only God knows the kind of change the APC has been promising Nigerians all this while #GEJ4Naija

  • if the APC is really sure that it has a lot to offer Nigerians, and that it has done a lot to convince the electorates to vote out GEJ then the date of elections should be the least of their problems, we can all see that the President is less concerned about the date of elections #GEJ4Naija

  • well i wonder what Lai Mohamed’s definition of the word liberation really is because to the best of my Knowledge Nigerians have never witnessed such tremendous transformation as we do under this administration, from rapid Economic growth, to human, capital and infrastructural development, to the massive rehabilitation of the nations ailing educational sector, the list can go on, for me this is liberation.
