The Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) is currently meeting leaders of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN).
The Herald can confirm that some of the governors present at the meeting are Rotimi Akeredolu – Ondo, Gboyega Oyetola – Osun, Dr Kayode Fayemi – Ekiti (NGF Chairman), Seyi Makinde – Oyo, and Mohammed Badaru Abubakar – Jigawa, and Atiku Bagudu – Kebbi.
Chairman of the Forum, Fayemi said that the meeting was conveyed to resolve the security challenges confronting the South-West geopolitical zone.
He noted that Governor Akeredolu’s order on Fulani herdsmen’s presence in Ondo forest reserves was given a wrong interpretation in the media.

He said that at no point did his Ondo state counterpart order Fulani herdsmen out of the state.
“Many members of MACBAN were born in the South-West. So, Akeredolu cannot ask Fulani to vacate Ondo State. The area concerned is the forest reserves and it is about registration and also to work in line with the law.
“What we are after is the criminals, not Fulani herdsmen, criminals are criminals irrespective of their ethnic group,” the NGF chairman stated.
