Former Minister of State for Finance and Minister of Commerce and Industry, Senator Jubril Martins-Kuye has died aged 78.
It was learnt that the Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State-born ex-minister died in his Victoria Garden City (VGC), Lagos residence early Sunday.
The ex-minister’s son, Bolaji confirmed the development.
Speaking on his father’s demise, Bolaji said, “It was a painful loss to us, but, we give glory to God for the impactful life that he lived while he was alive because he touched the lives of many people”.
He disclosed that his late father’s remains would be transported to Ago-Iwoye for burial according to Islamic rites later today.
Born in August 1942, Martins-Kuye graduated from the University of Ibadan with a degree in Sociology in 1968.
He proceeded to study Economics at the Harvard University Business School, graduating in 1983.
Former President Goodluck Jonathan appointed him Minister of Commerce and Industry on April 6, 2010.
