Following the fire outbreak in Balogun Market that had been earlier reported by The Herald, more information has been gathered by news reporters.
The fire has engulfed a shopping complex on Martin Street on the Lagos Island . According to reports, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency and Lagos State Fire Service have been deployed to put out the inferno.
A correspondent from Punch said that many traders are attempting to salvage as much of their goods as possible from the burning building.
Although the cause of the fire has yet to be identified.

LASEMA spokesperson, Nosa Okubor have confirmed the fire outbreak.
Adeleke Ashimi, who is also a spokesperson for LASEMA noted that a second building close to the shopping complex has also caught fire.
Ashimi said: “Our men are on their way there as well. We don’t know the extent of the fire yet,”
