Update: Female job seeker allegedly raped, killed, buried in shallow grave in Akwa Ibom

2 Min Read

The hashtag #FindHinnyHumoren is the number one trending topic on Nigerian Twitter as of Sunday morning following the alleged rape, killing and hasty burial of a female job seeker, Iniobong Umoren.

Her friend, Umoh Uduak, took to the platform on Sunday to reveal Iniobong’s killing.

Uduak tweeted…

In yet another tweet, she wrote…

The Herald had reported Saturday how Uduak revealed that her friend went missing on Thursday, April 29, while she was meeting a man, Uduak Frank Akpan, who promised to help her secure a job.

The meeting, the Lagos-based Uduak revealed, was to hold around the Ibiaku Junction on Airport Road in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

She said that she knew Iniobong, a Philosophy graduate of the University of Uyo, was in trouble when she received an audio message to her WhatsApp in which Iniobong was shouting for help.

Uduak said subsequent frantic efforts to reach her friend failed and the suspect, Akpan took to Facebook on Friday to deny any involvement in Iniobong’s disappearance.

While admitting that they were to meet, he said that the meeting did not hold because Iniobong did not show up.

Uduak vehemently denied this, insisting that Akpan was responsible for her friend’s disappearance, as he went incommunicado around the time that her friend’s phone stopped connecting.

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command had said on Saturday that its Anti-Kidnapping Squad was investigating Iniobong’s disappearance.
