Three persons, including a woman and a truck driver, have been killed by unknown gunmen in the Orji area of Imo State.
The assailants numbering seven were said to have operated in a bus and a Toyota Hilux vehicle.
According to a witness, the unknown gunmen who were adorned in black top and black trousers shot sporadically as they moved from Orji to the Spibat area and neighbouring areas.
The witness added that the assailants began operation around 5:30 pm and operated for more than an hour unchallenged.

Confirming the incident, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the state command, Bala Elkana, said that normalcy has returned to the affected areas.
“Normalcy has returned to Orji area by combined teams of the Police and other supporting security agencies.
“Three persons were killed by the hoodlums who blocked Orji flyover and started shooting sporadically.
“The cause of the shooting is still not clear at the moment.
“The investigation has, however, commenced,” Elkana said.
