The Nigeria Union of Agriculture and Allied Employees (NUAAE), has commended Gov. Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi state for his effort in ensuring smooth take-off of the University of Agriculture, Zuru.
Alhaji Umar Alhassan, the state chairman of the union, gave the commendation while briefing newsmen in Birnin Kebbi on Thursday.
He described the effort of the governor in canvassing for the upgrade of former College of Agriculture to the status of a University as unprecedented and commendable.
“The feat recorded by the governor in securing the consent of President Muhammadu Buhari has no doubt demonstrated his political will on his quest for agricultural development in the state,” he said.
He added that the establishment of the Federal University of Agriculture would further give impetus to innovative research, food processing, marketing and mechanisation not only in the state but beyond.
