Uni-Abuja expels 46 students for misconduct

The Vice-Chancellor, University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) Prof. Abdulrasheed Na’Allah has expressed the university’s willingness to partner Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) in running a program in Migration Studies.

The NIS Spokesman, Mr Sunday James disclosed this in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Abuja.
Na’Allah commended the Comptroller General, NIS, Mr Muhammad Babandede for giving the service a place in history and a voice among security agencies in the country.
He applauded the management for teaming up with the CGI to bring a turn around in various departments of the service.
He, however, noted that there was a need to bring in the migration study into the university to enable students to have more knowledge about migration.
According to him, universities, as a centre of knowledge must champion the course of solving migration concerns if they have to remain relevant as they do in security studies, medical, and healthcare.
“Migration studies should receive the attention it deserves through research and teaching in relevant areas of migration proceeding solutions.
“We hope to partner with the service to achieving this great innovation by the university and build the nation together in terms of security and other related issues,” he said.
In his response, Babandede thanked the vice chancellor for making time out of his busy schedule to visit the NIS headquarters, accompanied by his principal officers.
He said that migration was a major international issue of global concern that the world would keep battling with like security and health-related issues.
He assured the VC and his team of the service’s maximum support towards ensuring the course was taken in the university.
