The Uber driver who went viral this week for keeping his cool during a hellacious ride with a Bronx woman who threatened to accuse him of rape has opened up about the incident in a new video.
The man, whose name is still a mystery, posted the clip on Youtube Friday, saying Uber had gifted him with a lifetime supply of phone chargers after the enraged passenger complained of him not having one.
“I bet I will never have a problem for not having a charger anymore,” the driver said, smiling as he pours out his new goodies.
“You can see over here all kinds of chargers, man. iPhone, Samsung, auxiliary cords … everything.”
Uber also apparently wants to give him a bonus to make things right.
“The company was going to give me some type amount of money,” he said, declining to reveal the sum.
The man recalled meeting with Uber on Friday to discuss the ride, which took place on Monday.
“I just came from the Uber office right now because I had to go there to explain what happened,” he said. “I went there and as soon as I give them the information and show them the video, the lady told me they were looking for me because they saw the video and they were kind of devastated.”
He said Uber officials told him that his encounter with the woman will lead to a change in how they handle
“The manager saw the video, his manager saw the video, the boss all the way to the top, chiefs, all saw the video and was kind of speechless about it,” the driver explained.
“She also said, these kinds of allegations happen often, you know, where riders accuse drivers of doing stuff and guess what, the drivers get prison time, some of them get banned for life from being an Uber driver just because they didn’t record it.
She said this video will really change the way they work things out when this kind of problem happens.”
Throughout the new video, the driver discussed the things the woman told him in anger.
“She said Donald Trump would deport me, bet Donald Trump would like me more than your dumb ass,” he said. ‘What she failed to understand is I came here legally…Got my paperwork legally. I work legally I don’t do drugs, I don’t drink, I don’t fight, I don’t get in trouble, none of that s–t. I just work to make a living and thanks to Uber, I don’t have to be out there in the streetS. Just always in my car, doing what I have to do. After my shift, I go back home, and I’m good.”
The man concludes the video by thanking the online community for sharing the video of the ride and warning other Uber drivers of what to do in similar situations.
“I got a message for every single Uber driver out there. You better invest in a f-king dashcam,” he said. “Because being an Uber driver is putting your life in jeopardy if you don’t have a … dashcam… Make sure you buy a dashcam, bro. It could save your life. It saved my life.”
