The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has commenced the issuance of visa to Nigerians again after announcing restrictions earlier in the year.
This was announced by Nigeria’s Aviation Minister, Hadi Sirika who explained that it was a pre-condition laid down by the Federal Government before Emirates Airlines would be allowed to operate in Nigeria.
Announcing the development via Twitter, Hadi Sirika tweeted,
“UAE has written to state that they agree to issue visas to Nigerians, consequently decision has been reached to allow Emirates to fly into Nigeria.
“Commencement of the Visa issuance is condition precedent. Please bear with this unusual situation. Many thanks.”
The Nigerian Government had placed a ban on Emirates Airlines following the refusal of its home country to renew or grant fresh visas for Nigerians citing coronavirus restrictions.

The ban was also extended to major European carriers with the exception of British Airways for placing travel restrictions on Nigerians.
