United States President Donald Trump has warned his political enemies that the U.S economy will crash if congress decided to impeach him as President of the United States.
Mr. Donald Trump made the statement during an interview with Fox News after he was implicated as a co-conspirator in a case of federal felony by his former lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen.
The interview on “fox and friends” aired on Fox News is seen as an attempt by Mr. Trump to contain the fall-out from back-to-back court debacles this week that carry serious legal and political consequences for his presidency.
According to Mr. Trump;
“I will tell you what, if I ever got impeached, I think the market would crash; I think everybody would be very poor. You would see, you would see numbers that you wouldn’t believe in reverse,” he cautioned.
The U.S Economy has performed excellently well under Donald Trump despite the weekly scandals experienced by his administration.
Since Donald Trump came into office the U.S economy has doubled from two percent to four percent in the last quarter alone, a success the Trump administration attributes to the ability of Mr. Trump to bypass bureaucratic red tapes as well as a massive tax cut worth two trillion dollars.
The success of the economy under Donald Trump has been the highlight of the Republican Party’s campaign ahead of the U.S mid-term elections which is largely expected to be won by the Democrats.

Critics of Mr. Trump have described the tax cut as an unsustainable and unfunded stimulus package for the rich that will fuel a boom-and-bust dynamic.
Critics have also speculated that the mention of impeachment by Donald Trump is sign enough that the President was rattled by the recent revelations surrounding his person.
Michael Cohen, Trump’s fixer for decades, pleaded guilty to election fraud and in a shock move pointed to Trump as a co-conspirator on Tuesday while his former campaign manager, Paul Manafort was found guilty on multiple counts of fraud, in the first case sent to trial by the special prosecutor probing Russian meddling in the 2016 election.
Paul Manafort now faces lengthy prison time just like former President Richard Nixon’s campaign manager who also spent a long time in jail for violation of campaign rules.
Michael Cohen told a federal judge that he made secret payments to two women during the 2016 presidential campaign to keep them from speaking publicly about affairs they had said they had with Trump.
Although Donald Trump disagrees, prosecutors say the payments violated U.S laws regarding campaign contributions because the hush payments were intended to influence the outcome of the elections.
During the Fox interview Donald Trump was furious at Cohen for turning against him reiterating that such practice where lawyers could turn witness against their former clients ought to be outlawed.
In the same vein Mr. Trump overtly was full of praises for Paul Manafort for going to trial despite the fact that the president’s former campaign chief was found guilty of eight counts of financial fraud.
Mr. Trump praised Mr. Manafort for leaving his fate to a jury rather than striking a plea bargain deal with prosecutors.
Although critics have hinted that this may mean a presidential pardon for Mr. Manafort, Mr. Trump said he was only proud of the fact that Paul Manafort went through the trial with his dignity intact
