Thypoon Megi has been responsible for at least 4 deaths and more than 250 people sustained injuries following its landfall in Taiwan.
Of the 4 confirmed deaths, 3 were from falls and one was blamed on a truck crash.
More than 2.9 million Taiwanese homes and businesses lost power after some 38 inches (1000 millimeters) of rain fell in Yilan County according to Taiwan’s Central News Agency.
More than 35,000 soldiers were on standby to help with disaster relief. Schools were closed ahead of the storm and domestic flights, as well as dozens of International flights were cancelled.
Megi is the third typhoon to hit the Island in two weeks and the fourth this season.
