Two would-be suicide bombers accidentally blew themselves up on Saturday morning, as they attempted to bomb a checkpoint manned by soldiers of the Joint Military Task Force,JTF, at the Hotoro axis of Kano, northwest Nigeria.
Kano state Commissioner of Police, Musa Daura, said the two terrorists who died in the attack disguised as a water vendor and a motorcyclist.
“At about 7:30 this morning (Saturday), a terrorist disguised like a water vendor concealed explosives inside a truck with empty jerry cans. The explosive harmed and killed them when his accomplice who disguised as a motorcyclist tried to detonate the bomb, targeting a JTF checkpoint,” he said.
Daura added that the terrorists suspected to be members of the Boko Haram sect targeted a millitary checkpoint, “but they did not succeed.”
Meanwhile, four of their accomplices were arrested by security operatives and they confessed to have been masterminds of the botched attack.
