The Lagos state Police Command yesterday foiled an attempt to invade a community in Igando by gunmen suspected to be Niger Delta militants.
The gunmen were alleged to have hot two residents before the Igano Division of Police officers stepped into the situation and arrested the two suspects while two others reportedly fled the scene.
Following arrest, several ammunition were recovered from the hoodlums.
While confirming the incident, the Police spokesperson, Dolapo Badmos said: “Presently, the command has
deployed adequate security personnel and equipment to the area to forestall re-occurrence”.
She added: “We are working on the clue we have so far to unravel the case.
“The command is also imploring members of the public to promptly alert the police of any strange movement or occurrence within their community”.
