House of Representatives

Funny scenes were the order of the day when during the screening of Ambassadorial nominees, it was discovered that two of them could not recite the National anthem and pledge properly.

According to Daily Post, Senator Monsurat Sunmonu, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs asked a nominee from Anambra State Vivian Nwunaku Okeke to recite the national anthem and she proceeded to mix it up.

Again she asked Ibrahim Isa who was the nominee from Niger state to recite the National Pledge, he too mixed it up.

It was up to a Senator James Manager (PDP, Delta South) to correct the erring nominees.

The screening for the foreign service officers is still ongoing.
