There was drama after Argentine superstar Lionel Messi missed a penalty against Iceland. Following the heroics of Cristiano Ronaldo for Portugal against Spain, there was some pressure for Messi to score and replicate Ronaldo’s heroics.
Messi did have a chance, a big one when a penalty was given to Argentina and the Barcelona ace stepped up to take it.
The penalty was saved brilliantly and Argentina were unable to break down the Iceland team again ending the game 1-1.
Twitter naturally reacted to this with man pointing to Ronaldo’s ability to lift his Portuguese team to heights they would normally not reach.
Below are some of the reactions.
Messi misses a penalty and somehow, somewhere, I think Ronaldo May be winking.

This WC is already more exciting than all of South Africa 2010. Last minute winners, a ronaldo hattrick, Maradona doing cocaine in the stands, messi missed a pk, and it’s only the third day

Argentina still have Nigeria and Croatia to play and they are expected to do much better in those games
