Tweeps React To Elon Musk's Plan To Build A School With Atleast $100 Million

X users have taken to their various handles to react to ongoing plans by Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk to build a university in Austin Texas seeded with a roughly $100 million, The Herald reports.

This online news platform understands that the Elon Musk institute now tagged as “Texas Institute of Technology and Science’ will start with a STEM-focused primary and secondary school. Once that’s operating, it “intends ultimately to expand its operations to create a university dedicated to education at the highest levels,” according to an application to the Internal Revenue Service for tax-exempt status.

As of the time of filing this report, details on the institute are scant, however, The Herald understands that the university will employ “experienced faculty” and have a traditional curriculum backed by hands-on learning experiences including “simulations, case studies, fabrication/design projects and labs” and will be funded through tuition and donations, likely from Musk’s charity, The Foundation, which he dumped $2.2 billion worth of Tesla stock into last year, according to Bloomberg (the filing said the school “intends to be tuition-free,” though it may charge tuition and offer need-based scholarships).
