Football fans and tweeps have flooded X formerly known as Twitter pay tribute to Jürgen Klopp as he looks set to pull the curtain down on a glittering nine-year stint as Liverpool (The Reds) manager.
The Herald reports that Jürgen Klopp via a video posted on the Liverpoolfc.com on Friday announced his plans to exit Liverpool because he is running out energy.
Klopp has re-established The Reds as one of European football’s top clubs after several years floundering in mid-table, leading the club to Champions League and Premier League glory.
In total, the German has won seven major honours during his time at the club and holds the highest win rate of any manager in Liverpool’s history (60.7%, 50+ games), according to Opta.
Jürgen Klopp is also the only Liverpool manager to win each of the Premier League European Cup/Champions League, FA Cup, and League Cup during his time on Merseyside.
With his brand of pulsating ‘heavy metal’ football enthralling the red half of Merseyside for the past nine years, tweeps and football family have reacted to the news, The Herald captured some tweets, see below;
Wow. Huge news. What an incredible job he’s done. A special @RestIsFootball podcast will be with you this afternoon. https://t.co/FCAB4RrHHX

Don’t even know where to begin with this one. For once I’m lost for words. All I’ll say is that Jürgen Klopp is a better human being than he is a football manager – and that’s saying something in itself, because I think he’s the best football manager in the world. pic.twitter.com/Vt1UNTg3o6

Praise Klopp all you want but he'll never have a better Premier league legacy than Wenger. Let's respect ourselves please. pic.twitter.com/etD4UQvy4k

Wow, completely shocked! He’s looked so reenergised and happy this season I don’t think anyone saw it coming. What an impact Klopp has made on Liverpool and the Premier League 🌟Few managers connect with the fans the way he does, wouldn’t be surprised if they win the lot now! https://t.co/mvGxxTXt1k

Reading between the lines, it sounds like Klopp realised last season that he didn’t have the energy for it for much longer. But he wanted to at least get some foundations in place and get us back on track before he left. What a man. Devastated. Absolutely devastated.
