A former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has commended the Department of State Services (DSS) for arresting publisher of Desert Herald, Tukur Mamu.
Mamu served as a negotiator between the abductors and the families of the abducted victims of the Abuja-Kaduna train of March 29.
The Herald earlier reported that Mamu was arrested by Egyptian authorities on Tuesday.
He was sent back to Nigeria and was promptly picked up by the DSS at the Aminu Kano International Airport on Wednesday.
The spokesman of the secret police, Dr Peter Afunanya confirmed his arrest.

Reacting in a Facebook post, Fani-Kayode said Mamu’s arrest was the “biggest breakthrough” in Nigeria’s war on terror.
“The biggest breakthrough in the fight against BH and ISWAP is the arrest, repatriation and detention of Tukur Mamu who is an accomplice to the terrorists and who negotiates for ransoms on their behalf.
“I commend the noble and patriotic efforts of the DSS and NIA in this respect.
“I urge them to go after his associates and other highly placed individuals that are close to him and that have also defended, spoken and negotiated for the terrorists in the past.
“Finally I call on them to establish precisely what the link is between him and a leading figure in the PDP,” he said.
