Heavily-armed operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) early Thursday conducted a raid on the Kaduna home and office of arrested terrorist negotiator, Tukur Mamu.
The secret police stormed the house in a convoy of 20 vehicles before proceeding to his office, Daily Trust reports.
The Herald reported Wednesday that Mamu, who is a media consultant to a controversial Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, was nabbed at the Cairo International Airport in Egypt while on his way to the lesser hajj in Saudi Arabia.
It was learnt that Mamu was picked up over his relationship with terrorists in Nigeria and “strong ties with a terror group in Sinai area in Egypt”.
It was further learnt that the suspect was arrested on Tuesday and brought back to Nigeria on Wednesday.

“They ransacked the house and carted away documents, phones and laptops. Those in the house were ordered to sign a document which they did not read before the officers took it back,” Daily Trust quoted an unnamed witness as saying.
Mamu has served as a lead negotiator between the abductors and the family of the abducted passengers of the ill-fated Abuja-Kaduna train.
The Herald recalls that the Kaduna-bound train was attacked by armed gunmen on March 29.
Several passengers were killed and no fewer than 61 were abducted.
The assailants have been releasing the victims in batches after payment of ransom.
The freed victims converge on Mamu’s office before reuniting with their families.
Security sources stated that Mamu was specifically arrested for his alleged involvement in collecting ransom and taking the same to terrorists in exchange for the abducted victims.
