The President of Mexico, Enrique Pena Nieto, has called out American Presidential aspirant Donald Trump for being a liar and that Mexico was not going to pay for any wall.
The business mogul who’d met with Nieto on Wednesday said he’d told Nieto he would build a border wall to keep illegal migrants out if he wins the U.S. presidency, but Pena Nieto held fast to his position that Mexico would not pay for it.
Trump had left this out when he was asked about the wall stating that they discussed the wall but just vaguely, “We did discuss the wall, we didn’t discuss payment of the wall, that will be at a later date, this was a very preliminary meeting. It was an excellent meeting,” Trump said.
He later tweeted though that Mexico had agreed to pay for the wall.
Nieto was not pleased with this stating that he was quite clear when he said Mexico will not be paying for the wall, “At the beginning of the conversation with Donald Trump I made it clear that Mexico will not pay for the wall,” Pena Nieto said in a tweet after not mentioning the issue during their joint news conference.
Mexicans were deeply offended by Trump’s visit especially after his treatment of them as he’d called them rapists and thugs.
Even in private, Trump did not apologize to Pena Nieto, presidential spokesman Eduardo Sanchez told Reuters.
