29-year-old Kayden Coleman has spent 10 years of his life transitioning to male when he discovered that he was carrying his daughter Azaelia 21 weeks into his pregnancy.
He explained that the pregnancy occurred when he was off his hormones in preparation for a double mastectomy.
Kayden and then-boyfriend Elijah were preparing to get married when he discovered the pregnancy. Elijah’s family didn’t know that Kayden was transgender, they simple though he was a man.
Elijah said ‘It was such a personal thing that I felt if Kayden wanted them to know he should tell them himself.
‘But when we found out Kayden was pregnant we knew we had to tell them. How could we explain the baby when she popped up after a couple of months?’
Not long after, Kayden and Elijah welcomed their daughter Azaelia into the world.
Kayden has been suffering post-natal depression after the birth of the baby.
