The 10th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCAs) has been a whirlwind of emotions. While the ceremony itself received praise from some, the snub of Funke Akindele’s record-breaking film, “A Tribe Called Judah,” which lost all five nominations despite historic box office success, sparked criticism.
However, actress and producer Toyin Abraham offered a contrasting perspective. Taking to her Instagram page, Abraham showered the organizers with compliments, calling the AMVCAs the “best and realest ever.” She praised both Executive Director MultiChoice Nigeria, Busi Sola Komolafe, and the Africa Magic brand itself.
This positive sentiment comes just two weeks after Abraham extended an olive branch to Akindele, acknowledging that their rivalry stemmed from gossip and escalated over the years. Abraham suggested their competitive spirit could be channeled productively, fostering a collaborative environment within Nollywood.
