A severe rainstorm struck Toronto on Tuesday, leaving a trail of destruction and flooding in its wake. The storm caused power outages and flooded several homes and buildings, including the mansion of famous Canadian rapper, Drake.
Drake shared a video on his official page showing the extent of the flooding in his home. The video depicts a man struggling to push against glass doors as water rushes from one room to another. The rapper did not comment on the extent of the damage or any potential injuries.
According to David Phillips, senior climatologist with Environment and Climate Change Canada, the flooding is a result of urban flooding, a growing concern in the region. “This is the new reality,” Phillips told CBC. “It used to be river flooding, but now it’s urban flooding.”
The storm has left many residents struggling to cope with the aftermath. The city is working to restore power and provide support to those affected by the flooding.
