Nigerian media personality Toolz Oniru, fondly known as Toolz, is celebrating eight years of marital bliss with her husband Captain Tunde Demuren. Taking to Instagram, Toolz shared a funny anecdote from their wedding day that almost turned disastrous.
“It’s year 8!” Toolz began her post. “Funny story, the day we were supposed to fly out to Dubai for our wedding, I overslept and nearly missed the flight!” She described the frantic scene with her security guard and sister banging on the door, while Captain Tunde (already at the airport) and family members bombarded her with calls.
“In tears, I called him back, wailing and convinced I’d missed the flight,” Toolz continued. “But Captain Tunde, ever the calming force, simply told me to come down immediately.” Thankfully, the story has a happy ending. Toolz managed to get dressed and rush to the airport, miraculously making the flight in time.
The post highlighted not just the near-miss but also Captain Tunde’s unwavering support. “Thank you for being the calm (sometimes too calm) to my dramatic self over the last 8 years,” Toolz wrote. She expressed gratitude for their children and playfully hinted at wanting another.
The anniversary message ended with a heartfelt prayer: “May God grant us many more years together full of love,understanding and joy! May we continue to grow and learn to be better partners for each other with God at the centre of it all.”
