The Serving Overseer, Citadel Global Community Church (CGCC), Pastor Tunde Bakare, has berated some Yoruba persons who he said have made it their business to disparage APC National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu over his ancestry.
He stated this in an undated video making the rounds while weighing in on the controversy that the two-term Lagos State Governor is an indigene of Osun State and not Lagos that he has been claiming.
The vocal Bakare said that the “rancorous noise characterised by bitterness” that the ex-governor’s traducers have been making cannot subtract from the man that Tinubu is.
“I have a word for those Yoruba rancorous elements, noisemakers who have not achieved as much as Asiwaju had achieved but they are always querying and worrying themselves about his ancestry.
“His traducers are quick to tell you that he is from Iragbiji or that he is not from Lagos State, as if that will resolve the issues that we face today.

“Please hear me loud and clear. Knowing the name of Asiwaju’s biological mother and father or his place of birth cannot put food on the table of the hungry or create jobs for the unemployed and unemployable,” Bakare said.
The pastor said that in spite of the circumstances of Tinubu’s birth, he delivered “Lagos and the whole of the South-West states from the on-slaught of the PDP between 1999 and 2007.
He added that without the cooperation and political dexterity of Tinubu, APC’s victory in the 2015 and 2019 polls would have been impossible.
Bakare said that while he was not Tinubu’s “brand manager” and did not endorse everything about the man, the APC National Leader deserved applause for his achievements despite the challenges life threw at him.
He said he doubted if many Tinubu’s traducers could have faced the same challenges as the man and survived.
