President Bola Tinubu has directed the withdrawal of the nomination of Engr. Imam Kashim Imam as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA).
Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale stated this in a statement on Thursday.
According to the statement, the president’s withdrawal of Kashim-Imam’s nomination is directed with immediate effect.
“All other appointments to the Board and Executive Management team of FERMA are not affected by this directive,” the presidential statement said.
Recall that the appointment of the 24-year-old Kashim-Imam to head the FERMA Board was announced last week Friday.
A first-class graduate of Mechanical Engineering from Brighton University in the UK, Kashim-Imam’s appointment was heavily criticised on the grounds that he has no prior work experience.
